Power Drills - The Basics You Should Know About Power Drills
Choose the proper tool for the job at hand. A drilling tool that is too heavy will adversely affect your job performance. Also, if you can't get a good grip on the drill you could lose control of it. To see if you can handle the weight of a drill for an 8 hour work day, you can hold the drill at eye level. See how long it takes for your hand and arm to get tired. Imagine doing that all day. Then pick a power drill that you can handle that will also get the job done.
Hand drills come in two stills, electric and manual. Electric drills are more popular than "arm-strong" (manual) drills. As a matter of definition, a drill is a tool which makes holes and/or gaps, not meaning your hammer and screwdriver. It uses a rotating bit to make the holes.
Manual drills were basically large corkscrews and tiresome to use
Today we have electric drills. They come in both corded and cordless versions. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. A corded power drill has better torque and higher constant speed making it ideal for drilling tough material. They are not restricted to the charge on a battery so they can be used all day, uninterrupted. They are lighter than their cordless counter-parts of equal ability. Hand drills are good for mobility and for small holes.
Cordless Drill
The cordless drill offers an unprecedented mobility. They can be used outdoors and at jobsites with limited or no electricity. They can also be used at home for quick jobs without the need for the big orange extension cord. Both the corded and cordless drill can be used as a screwdriver. Just insert the proper bit and you now have a high speed, or high torque screwdriver.
For the accurate drilling of small holes industry uses drill presses. There are hammer drills, well drillers, and so forth. Always consider the item you are drilling when choosing the proper drill and drill bit. When drilling a hole in steel or other hard objects you want to use a steel rated bite and a low speed high torque drill. If you drill a hole through wood or other soft material you use a wood rated bit and a higher speed drill.
Most drills do come with variable speed settings. Some drills let you choose to torque rating. The variable choices of power drills and attachments allow
